THE KAY MEEK SUCCESSFULLY RAISES $4 MILLION
FOR ITS CAPITAL ACCESSIBILITY CAMPAIGN

We are thrilled to report that after launching our campaign four years ago, we have successfully achieved our goal to raise $4,256,749 toward upgrades in accessibility, equipment renewal, and new program spaces. We sincerely thank everyone who has made a gift to our campaign. This achievement would not have been possible without the combined support of our patrons, all three levels of government, and corporate support. We are grateful to all of you.

Below is a list of the renovations that took place throughout the building:

  • A commercial elevator that takes you to all three levels of the building

  • All new seating in the Studio Theatre

  • Two additional universal washrooms – one on the upper and one on the lower level

  • A new multi-purpose room that will be used for receptions, talks, workshops and more

  • A purpose-built dance studio

  • State-of-the-art sound and lighting technologies

  • New high-definition cameras and digital software for live-streaming events

  • A re-designed courtyard that includes a sculpture by world-renowned artist Marie Khouri

THE ENCORE CAMPAIGN - $500,000 GOAL

FUNDS RAISED TO DATE: $256,749

As we celebrate our achievements to date, our fundraising efforts continue. Our phase two goal is an additional $500,000, and we’re nearly halfway there already. The Encore Campaign will raise essential funds to complete our capital improvements, which endured COVID-related cost impacts, and ensure sustainable funding for long-term maintenance. Additional initiatives include COVID-related equipment for audience safety and new live-streaming capabilities. The Encore Campaign strengthens the Kay Meek Arts Centre’s service to our community for years to come.

BUY A SEAT

An easy way to support the Encore Campaign is by purchasing a seat in either the Grosvenor or McEwen Theatres. Anyone supporting this campaign will have their name engraved on a seat plaque in the theatre. This seat naming opportunity offers arts supporters the chance to create a lasting legacy for a family member or loved one, or to celebrate your own passion for the arts. In the Grosvenor Theatre donors who give $750 can name a seat for five years and $1,500 donors can name a seat for ten years. In the McEwen Theatre, donors who give $500 can name a seat for five years, and $1,000 for ten years.
